Brooklyn-grown hip hop artist Andy Mineo’s latest music offering dropped on Tuesday, April 16th, and it’s gained momentum! It debuted at #2 on iTunes Top Hip Hop/Rap Album. “I want to combine the message that I believe in deeply with the catchiness of these hip hop songs and choruses.” Mineo says, ” I really think it makes a powerful combination to speak to the hearts of people all over the world.” And Mineo stays true to his art creating music with catchy beats, but with deep, meaningful lyrics.
In Heroes for Sale, Andy Mineo takes listeners on a journey of authenticity. Mineo responds, “We make heroes out of a lot of things. We make heroes out of people. We believe ourselves to be greater than we really are. We make ourselves look like heroes to other people. What I really wanted to do is show the brokenness of the heroes that we create and the heroes that we try to be in order to show that there is ultimately only one great hero.” The first track, “Superhuman,” reveals Mineo’s honesty as Mineo admits to various struggles. And the rest of the album continues this genuine conversation of close introspection.
- “You Will”
- “The Saints”
Verdict: 9/10, Despite being a more musically structured album compared to Mineo’s previous Formely Known, his latest proves his potential to be a household name. Great music isn’t music that is catchy; great music is meaningful and speaks volumes to a generation. Mineo’s “Heroes for Sale” does just that.
